Chicken BLT

I love a god BLT. The salty crispness of the bacon, slight acidity of the tomato and the crunchy freshness of the lettuce all on a buttery toasted bun.

Pumpkin Soup

Everyone has to have a soup recipe under their belt. It warms you up on those chilly winter days and not to mention soup is usually chock full of veggies so is an easy way to get your kids eating veggies they normally wouldn't touch.

My Mum's BBQ Meatloaf

This was a favourite with me and my sister when we were growing up. And its a meal that I've continued to make for my friends. In fact its become some what of an inside joke amongst us all.

Jamie Olivers One Cup Pancakes

Everyone in my family knows that breakfasts are my sisters domain. She would whisk up a pancake batter without even double checking ingredients and measurements. While I was more the type to duck down to the supermarket, buy a bottle of pancake mix and add some water.

Thai Green Curry

I only just recently started making my own curries from scratch. I am ashamed to admit that like many others my version of curry came in a jar from Mr Kantong.

Quasadillas (kay-sa-DEE-yas)

Quasadillas are flour tortillas packed with all your favorite ingredients, covered in cheese and then grilled. Think of it as a pizza sandwich.
My mum would make them for lunches when my sister and I were in high school. I am willing to bet that 9 times out of 10 that they wouldn't even make it to lunch break.

Perfect Roast Chicken

I used to be so scared to roast my own chicken. There was always that horrible fear when you take the chicken out of the oven to carve, praying that it was cooked through. Because of this I had a tendency to cook chicken until it was over cooked and dry.

Homemade Pasta

When I was a teenager my mum would often comment that I would live on pasta if i could.
It is true, I LOVE pasta. So it only seemed right to learn how to make it myself. Thanks to a helpful little demonstration from Gary Mehigan at the Good Food and Wine Show.

Lemon Chicken

I have never before made Chinese lemon chicken. I have eaten it plenty of times and I've even seen my mum make it at home. I was looking for something different to do with my fried rice and seeing as though its the dish I always get when ordering Chinese, it made sense to give it a go at home.

Fried Rice

Fried rice is the first thing that my mum taught me how to cook. I remember because I was in grade 6 and everyone in the class was given a country to do a project on. Part of the project was to cook a dish from your given country. My country was China.

Coq Au Vin - Rescue Mission

One of my favourite winter meals is Coq au vin.It has all the warmth and comfort of a casserole with half the cooking time and is as simple as the translation of its french name: Chicken cooked in wine.

The first food post

After some careful consideration I have finally decided to create my own food blog.
Many of my friends often comment on my cooking abilities, so I thought why not create a blog of some of my favourite recipes so you too can give them a go.
